Making these has been a lifesaver for markets, even now that I’m not doing markets anymore, I still hear from fellow vendors that people ask for them.
So what is it about these little furry scrubbies that people like? Is it the small yet perfect sizing for hands or perhaps the soft yet abrasive texture of the yarn? I will never know, but I will gladly keep making them for people who want them.
A few years ago, I received an order to make 50. 50! That has been my easiest yet most painful order, and since the lady has ordered about 20 more. Truly, I couldn’t be more thankful for this pattern.

This is one of my easiest patterns, but an absolute gold mine, so if you’re ready to make some sales at your upcoming market or want to impress someone with a useful gift, I’m here to show you the way.
I hope you enjoy making this Scrubby as much as I did! I would love to see how yours turned out so please tag me on any of my socials!

Alright, lets get to it!
Here’s what you’ll need for today’s project:
- 5mm hook (Hook I used: https://amzn.to/4fZGHT8)
- Weight 4 cotton scrubby yarn (I used Red Heart Scrubby: https://amzn.to/4nkv6Ap)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Stitches you’ll need to know for this project:
- CH – Chain
- SC – Single Crochet
- DC – Double Crochet
- INC – Increase
- SLST – Slip Stitch
Let’s Begin!

To begin round one Ch 3.

Place a dc in the 3rd ch from your hook, place 11 more dc in the same st. (12)

Slst into the first dc you made, ch 3.

Place 2 dc in each stitch; this will double the number of stitches you had in the previous row. Slst into your first dc and ch 3. (24)

*Dc 1, dc inc in the next* Continue repeating ** until you reach the first dc you made. Slst and ch 1. (36)
Make two of these circles, don’t tie off on the 2nd one.

Take both of your circles and place them back-to-back, insert your hook picking up a stitch on both sides and sc them together. Place a sc in each stitch until you get back to the first sc you made. Slst and tie off.
Congrats, you made your first scrubby!

I hope you enjoyed my pattern, and I can’t wait to see you on the next one!
